The United States of America is a nation conceived of and built upon
ideas, profound and revolutionary in nature, and eternal in character.
Without the ideas expressed in the grand and noble words of The
Declaration of Independence, none of what we enjoy today would have been
possible.
If you and I were to start all over again to build a nation, what would be
our starting point? Would we decide that religious faith should be banned
from the halls of our government institutions? If so, would there be any
hope that a nation such as ours, “conceived in liberty and dedicated to
the proposition that all men are created equal,” could have even a faint
chance of survival?
What, then, is America’s creed? More Importantly, what difference does it
make today?
